Wheelchair Vehicle Information
In
order to best suit the unique needs of different individuals, Mobility
Engineering offers a range of different models of Wheelchair Accessible
Vehicles (WAV). Once modified, all our
models are ready for use, providing you with ease of mind and greater
convenience. Also in most standard
conversions, our modifications allow you to maintain the maximum number of
seating positions as possible. Even when this retention is not possible, in
some cases an after-market seat can be installed.
The Modification
At
Mobility Engineering, we ensure that all our packages come equipped with high
quality components for your increased independence.
All our packages include a wheelchair
tie-down system, consisting of 2 electrically controlled roll-up systems at the
front and 2 removable straps at the rear that safely tie down the
wheelchair. The rear straps of this
system are equipped with a quick release, reducing the time and tedium
associated with the removal of the straps from the lowered floor. For other smart tie-down options, check out

Note that in some vehicles room for spare
tyre may have to be custom made by altering the interior trims that may be
charged extra. However in a large number of cases, this modification can be
made with being barely noticeable. This
is can be achieved through removing the centre part of the bumper and placing
it on the tailgate. Both the lowered part of the floor and ramp is upholstered
and with non-slip material for easy maintenance. The ram provides easy access
to the entrance of the car.
